The Grace Power and Strength Lost within Life and the Living
Chapter 110
“This is How I Know each Day”
I start each day by kissing my wife Joyce. Then read a story about my Mother “A Little Closer to God from the Second Row” and “From the Seeds of Post-Election Despair How does your Garden Grow” while listening to my second mother singing “Amazing Grace” in the background.
Next, I read “A Majestic Walk into World History” and “The Big Spoon” while listening to Sam Cook’s “A Change is Gonna Come”. A tribute to the magic moments in our lives that help define us. A time when nothing but love surrounded us and gave us a strength that will always sustain us even when there seems to be nowhere, that we can go.
This is a daily acknowledgement to the wonderful strong women and men that continue to bring grace to my life from this world and the next. My reminder that God truly does love me. They have given me the wisdom to get through so many horrible days. To keep me above the fray and not become one of the many people who have simply lost their way. A place where Hope and Love still exist.
I remember something that I saw in an ESPN piece on Jimmy Valvano who was dying of cancer. He was savoring his last days in this world. Sharing his knowledge of the essence of a life and what we should cling to always before we fade away. His declaration was that there are three things you should do every day. One suggestion, everyone should be moved to tears each day.
This is how I know each day that I still have my Humanity.
Note of Interest:
Having had two mothers that raised me, both loving me that I can still feel each day from a wonderful place on high very far away. A moment, a song, a conversation or any memories sending us back in time, too warm and feed our souls that will take the pain away. A time machine that helps me get my hugs each day.

How to Clean
CDC COVID-19 Cleaning and Disinfection for Households
Cleaning with Bleach
Disinfecting Bleach Solution (½ cup Clorox® Regular Bleach2 added to 1 gallon water) The disinfecting solution has very specific instructions for mixing and use because Clorox® Regular Bleach2 is registered with the EPA as a disinfectant, with efficacy assured by following label instructions. Your mom’s hospital was correct to ensure its effectiveness (critical in a hospital environment) by mixing a fresh solution daily, but I can also understand that you don’t want to make it up every day if you don’t have to. To simplify things for you, you could make a smaller amount (2 tablespoons diluted in 4 cups water) that you use up over several days for general countertop cleaning. However, when you are cleaning up after things that are highly likely to spread bacteria (like raw meat), you would want to use a freshly mixed solution. You could also try Clorox® Clean-Up®. It’s really convenient for home use, with a specially designed sprayer mechanism that’s compatible with bleach and won’t corrode.
Remember to always follow the label directions, and I hope this helps.
Bleach Solutions (These solutions have a limited shelf life so only make as much as you can use for a 24 hour period.
5 tablespoons of bleach (1/3 cup) per gallon of water
4 teaspoons of bleach per quart of water.
(We add a few squirts of antibacterial liquid soap in the mixture)
